All members have the option of blocking messages from members that use free email services. To contact this member through NZDating you need to upgrade your account to Silver or Gold levels.

• To upgrade from standard to Silver Membership, you need to change your email address to a non-free, .NZ email address. To change your email address you need to go to your 'account/settings' section, find the section for 'email address', enter the new address you want to use and click on the update button near the bottom of the page.

Orcon and KOL.co.nz addresses
As Orcon have provided free email addresses on the orcon.net.nz domain and provide no automated way to distinguish paid accounts from free accounts, the free accounts can be created and misused in the same way that Hotmail accounts can be. Because of this orcon email addresses are not offered a silver membership.

KOL.co.nz addresses are also not offered Silver membership as the ISP has so far been unable to assist us with a serious case of misuse. We do hope KOL will work with NZDating to prevent further misuse from the KOL service however until this happens we need to consider KOL members less trustworthy than ISP's which do take action against misuse from their service.
